Tailbaila तैलबैला


Tailbaila is very popular place among adventure trekkers !!
Its an excellent place for rappelling and rock climbing !!




How To Reach : It is about 100 km from Pune.  There are two ways from Pune.

1.Via Lonavla - Pune - Lonawla-BhushiDam-INS Shivaji-Lion Point- Peth Shahapur- Ambvane village - Amby valley- Bhamburde road-Saltar-take right turn from Saltar- Take a right turn after a small mountain pass to Tailbaila Village-Tailbaila.

Road from Pune to Amby valley about 80km road is very good !! After Amby valley its typical rural single but pakka road bit no problem for car. The distance from Amby valley to Tailbaila is about 15 to 20 km.
On the way Tourists Places - Khandala, Lonaval, Wax musium Lonvla, Bhushi Dam, Lion Point, Amby Vally- Koraigad fort, Pavana dam, Lohgad, Visapur, Tikona, Tung forts 

2.Via Tamhini - Pune - Pirnagut- Paud - Mulashi - Tahmini - after tamhini village leave tahmini ghat Konkna Mangaon road- take a right turn after Nive village to MKCS Ashrram road to Bhambhurde village- on the way you must see Kundlika Valley- go ahead along with Mulshi dam backwaters to Bhamburde village ( 80/90 km from Pune)- you can see Navaraa-Navari ( Bride-Groom) Peaks on the way- Bhamburde village- proceed on Lonavla Road - 3/4 km after Bhamburde village take a left turn before mountain pass for TailBaila village-Tailbaila. 

Pune to Tamhini 70km road is in good condition. From Tamhini to Tailbiala is about 30km road is rural type,pakka, single road. need to drive a car carefully. no problem for bikes and SUVs. 
On the way Tourists Attractions : Mulshi dam, Tamhini waterfalls, Kailasgad fort,Tamhini valley, Kundalika Valley, Ghangad fort, Bhamburde valley


Food and Water : Local villagers may provide home made veg, non-veg food. No mineral water available. First give your order of food, then go to trek. Mr. Roakade Avinash provide tasty and fresh

                                
No hotels and restaurant at village. Before Amby valley at lion point breakfast would be available. Lonavla and Mulashi have hotels for all types of food.

Parking : Local parking place is available to Tailbaila village from where peaks are about 2 km.. walking distance .


What to see : 

1. Tailbaila Peaks- The pair of wall like shape peaks are called Tail-Bail. These looks like natural walls. Its an adventurous spot. Rappelling and rock climbing with the help of expert team and tools is done by tourists teams. You can trek up to half way easily, where a temple and a water tank is there. Regular trekker can rest and take their food on this spot. On this spot you can feel the cool breeze from the gap of two hill walls, tremendous refreshing feeling ! Next half trek is tough and difficult by rappelling, not possible for everyone. You need skill, endurance and guts to climb on 90 degree, straight walls.  






2. Tailbaila Valley - It is one of the deepest and narrowest valley in Maharashtra.             It is about 3/4 km from the village. Bikes can go up to the edge of valley.You can see Ghangad on the opposite side of the valley and Sudhagad to the right side.

                                                                 



3. Mahadev Temple - it is about 3/4 km from village on the edge of Sahyadri. The road is very rough and not used by many. from here you can see Sudhagad, Khopoli-Pen road.

Stay : No hotels at Tailbaila Village. Home stay is provided by villagers.


IMPORTANT : Generally there are no tourists on weekdays, So take a local guide or anyone form village to show you the right path, other wise there is possibility to get diverted from path especially to the Valley and Mahadev Temple.
Mobile signals are weak or absent. 

Nearby Tourists attraction - Mulashi waterfalls, Tamhini ghat, Tamhini valley, Kundlika Valley, Ghatgad, Khanadala, Lonavla, Bhushi dam, lion point, Amby valley, Koraigad etc.

The information is given on the base of my latest visit in Sept 2015  so it may change.

Naneghat नाणेघाट

 नाणेघाट Naneghat
Naneghat is a historic mountain pass near Junnar in Maharashtra. It was a main commercial route from plateau of Maharashtra to Konkan and Mumbai region. 

How to Reach From Pune : 
  • Distance from Pune is approx. 140km. Pune - Manchar-Narayangaon-Junnar-Shiveri fort-Aptale-Ghatghar road-Chavand fort-Ghatghr-Naeghat
  • Approx time needed is 3-4hrs.
  • Pune to Naranagaon 80 km is national hoghway no 50. Good condition.
  • Naranyangao to Junnar state highway 18km. single road with good condition.
  • Junnar to Naneghat is about 30km and an hours journey. Single road with good condition. Beautiful journey. Road is surrounded by Sahyardr mountain ridges.
  • Traffic is less. Local traffic only. lonely and isolated road. Don't assume petrol pump and mechanic in nearby place.
  • One day return tour is possible from Pune.

Parking : Yes, Parking place is available near Naneghat spot. 




Petrol pump and Mechanic : it may be nearby, bur i know which is at Junnar. 

Food n Water : Local food and water are available in Ghatghar village. There are few veg/nonveg hotels there on spot. First give order then go to Naneghat and back and enjoy food.

Trekking Tips

Trekking is a refreshing activity. It makes our mind and body fresh and healthy. At the same time it contains risk factor. If proper care is not taken, you may find yourself in a serious trouble.
1. Plan the trek properly. Use websites, blogs, trekking organisation sites to make the plan.

2. Don't follow others planning as it is. Customize ii properly which will be suitable to your age, physical abilities and nature. 

3. Make sure you will have enough money, food and water with you from home to home.

4. Keep biscuit and extra water in case of route lost, emergency stay or traffic jam etc.

5. Inform your friends and family members about your trek plan. It will help them to assist you on location in case of disaster. And keep in touch with them during the trek. Give them idea when you will back in mobile network range.

 6. Don't ware short and loose cloths which will trouble you in hiking. But look smart in trek, because yourself, friends and family will be going to watch those photographs for life time. There are some trekkers wear simple t-shirt or baniyaan and track pants or Bermuda/three fourth etc. which does not suit for photos. Generally, it is said that "tourists are ugly people"So wear simple, free and be smart attire rather ugly or funny.

7. Don't make litters on the fort. Carry all plastic material back with you. If others not following suggest them politely, they will agree.

8. Keep seeds of fruits, flowers or any plant and just throw it on open spaces on the trail.

9. Do not disturb the eco-system of the region. Dont pluck leaves, flowers or branches to make your photo more attractive. Since nature give you so much pleasure, you have to preserve it. 

10. Try to go with experienced and professional group. They will minimize a risk.

11. Carry a torch, a vessel, extra packets of dry food for emergency, small knife, a lighter, first aids kit with antiseptics, cotton, bandage and medicine etc.

12. Don't take any risk in hyper activeness of fun and excitement. Remember there are many accidents happened at the simplest treks. Just think about your family and friends are waiting for you !

13. Do not write anything on walls, tress and rocks. 

14. Avoid non-veg food, alcohol and smoking on trekking. 

15. Offers your help if you see someone in trouble. Show Humanity.

16. Do not leave a group without intimation. 

17. Take maximum care when you are on actual hike. Some portions are really risky. 

18. If you are not sure about the route, take help of local people. In Maharashtra, local people are very cooperative. They defiantly help you ! Take their contact and share it on social networking sites.

ट्रेकिंग एक रीफ्रेश क्रियाकलाप आहे. आमच्या मन आणि शरीर ताजा आणि निरोगी करते. त्याच वेळी तो धोका घटक समाविष्टीत आहे. योग्य काळजी घेतली नाही तर, आपण एक गंभीर समस्या स्वत: ला शोधू शकता.
1. ट्रेक व्यवस्थित योजना. वेबसाइट वापरण्यास, ब्लॉग, ट्रेकिंग संस्था साइट पाहणे।

4.  अपघात , आणीबाणी मुक्काम किंवा वाहतूक ठप्प मध्ये बिस्कीट आणि अतिरिक्त पाणी ठेवा।

5. आपल्या ट्रेक योजना आपल्या मित्र आणि कुटुंबातील सदस्यांना कळवा. त्यांना आपत्ती बाबतीत स्थान आपण मदत करण्यासाठी मदत होईल. आणि ट्रेक दरम्यान त्यांच्या संपर्कात ठेवा. त्यांना आपण मोबाइल नेटवर्क श्रेणी परत होईल तेव्हा कल्पना द्या.

 6. ज्या संकटे आपल्याला हायकिंग लहान आणि सैल पडलेली वारे नका. स्वत: ला, मित्र आणि कुटुंब जीवन वेळ त्या छायाचित्रे पाहण्यासाठी जात जाईल कारण पण, ट्रेक मध्ये स्मार्ट दिसत. काही ट्रेकर्सचे फोटो भागविण्यासाठी नाही साधा टी-शर्ट किंवा बनियन  आणि ट्रॅक अर्धी चड्डी किंवा बर्म्युडा असू नये. साधारणपणे, स्मार्ट पोशाख ऐवजी दुष्ट किंवा मजेदार असू नये असे म्हटले जाते.

7 गडावर कचरा  करू नका. आपण सर्व प्लास्टिक साहित्य परत घेऊन या . इतरानाही  अदबीने  सूचित केले , तर ते सहमत होतील.

8. फळे, फुले किंवा कोणत्याही वनस्पतीच्या  बिया ठेवा आणि मोकळ्या  जागेवर  वर फेकून दया 

9. प्रदेश इको प्रणाली व्यत्यय आणू नका. हिसका पाने, फुले किंवा शाखा तोडू नका.  आपला फोटो अधिक आकर्षक बनविण्यासाठी नका निसर्ग ख़राब करू नका . निसर्ग तुम्हाला खूप आनंद देतो , आपण त्याचे रक्षण करावे .

10. अनुभवी आणि व्यावसायिक गतासोबत  जाण्यासाठी प्रयत्न करा. त्यामुळे  एक धोका कमी होईल.

11. मशाल, भांडे, इत्यादी आणीबाणी, लहान चाकू, प्रथमोपचार पेटी , कापूस, मलमपट्टी आणि औषध साठी कोरडे अन्न अतिरिक्त पॅकेट घेऊन जा

12. मजा आणि उत्साहाच्या भरात कोणत्याही धोका घेऊ नका. सोपा ट्रेकिंग वर सुद्धा अनेक अपघात घडले आहेत  हे  लक्षात ठेवा. फक्त आपल्या कुटुंबाच्या विचार आणि मित्र तुम्हाला वाट पहात आहेत हे  लक्षात ठेवा!

13 भिंती, झाड़  आणि खडक वर काहीही लिहू नका.

14 ट्रेकिंगसाठी वर मांसाहारी अन्न, मद्यपान आणि धूम्रपान टाळा.

15 तुम्ही संकटात कोणीतरी दिसल्यास आपल्या मदती हात दया।  मानवतेसाठी दर्शवा.

16 सूचना दिल्याशिवाय गट सोडु  नका.

17 जास्तीत जास्त काळजी घ्या. काही भाग खरोखर धोकादायक आहेत.


18. गरज वाटल्यास स्थानिक लोकांची  मदत घेणे. महाराष्ट्रात, स्थानिक लोक फार सहकारी आहेत. ते नक्की  तुम्हाला मदत करतील ! त्यांच्या संपर्क घ्या आणि सोशल नेटवर्किंग साइटवर शेअर करा.

Purandar Fort Trek

Purandar Fort is about 45 Km from Pune and 15 km from Saswad. Its a birthplace of Sambhaji Raje. At present the fort is under the surveillance of Indian Army.

How to Reach : There are many ways to reach Purandar from Pune to Narayanpur which is the base town of the fort. 
1.Pune-Saswad-Narayangaon-Purandar fort
2.Pune-Banglore highway-Kapurhol-Take left turn to Saswad road - Ketkawale (Balaji Temple)-Narayangaon-right turn - Purandar fort

The Road is there up to Pune Darwaja. So no need to trek. Vehicle can go up on the fort. 
Very Important thing is Keep Identity card, vehicle document and driving licence with you. At the entry gate You will have to make entry with this document at Indian Army office. Follow the guidelines given by The Great Indian Army. They will give you time to return, follow it. Generally, if you reach in late afternoon, you will not allowed to go on the fort.

Parking Place : Parking of Car and two wheeler is there. 

Food and Water : A small hotel is there. Only Kandabhaji, Wadapav, Pohe etc. Maharashtriyan snacks, tea biscuits and water bottles etc. are available. So its better to bring tiffin with you from home and have it on the fort. Nearby hotels for complete meal are in Narayanpur which is base town of the fort.

What to See : After parking your vehicle, you will be leading to steps which will take you on the top of the fort after 20/30 minutes. On the journey few chapels, temples and old colonies of British time. The topmost point is Kedareshwar Temple which is covered by cloud in monsoon and very windy. Here you can have your tiffins. There are water tanks and Buruz on the fort.
Unfortunately i could not able to locate the birthplace of Shambhaji Raje ! A wider panorama of Saswad to Bhor is visible from the fort.
Vajragad in a twin fort of Purandar where you can reach by a trail of 15/20 minutes.
Some parts are occupied by army, so not allowed for citizens to go there. Avoid those areas.
Overall 3 hrs are enough to see the fort. From parking to parking back 4 hours are sufficient. All age Family members can visit the Fort. Its safe.

Nearby tourists Places : There are many religious places around Purandar fort e.g.Saswad, Jejuri, Jadhavgad, Kanifnaath temple, Bhor, Deveghat, Mastaani Talaaw (Lake), Theur and Morgaon Ganapati, Narayangaon Shri Gurudatta temple, Veer dam, Adventrue plus etc.
