The Shape of the fort is like a peacock hence it would be name as Mrug (Peacock) gad (fort)

The fort is about 120 km from Pune. Bheliv is the name of the base village of the fort. The fort is seen from the Lion/Tiger Point Lonavla which is on the Amby valley road.
Khandala -Khopoli - Imagica - Umbare -Durshet - Padghawali - left turn for Jabhulpada road - along the the river Amba - Mangaon bk - Bheliv

Trekking start from this temple.
The total time required to get to the top of the forts is 40 to 50 mins.
The forts is small. There is a water tank, a goddess statue and a cave there on the top.
Try to move forward towards the end of the fort.
after initial walk of 10 min, jungle patch starts
Once you reach on open sky you will see a narrow pass
on the top of the pass, the main fort is on the left side and a cave is on the right side
The importance of Raireshwar is the Oath of 'Swarajya" by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the temple of Lord Shiva called 'Raireshwar'. Raireshwar is one of the simplest trek near Pune.
How to Reach :
About 75 km and 2 hours journey from Pune. Pune- Kapurhol-Bhor-Varandha Ghat road-Ambeghar- leave Varandhaghat road and take left and enter in Ambeghar Village - Ambawade- take right turn and go with Bhor-Mhakoshiroad road-Korle-Vadtumbi-Oholi-Ghat section-Go on the top of Ghat section- on the way Kenjalgad route on the left- Reach to the hairpin turn and park vehicle here- small vehicles can reach at the nearest base.
Oholi Ghat section is narrow and with sharp turn, so I suggest not to take bus more than 34/36 seater.

Food and Stay :There is a small village settlement of the top of the fort. Home stay and food available. Veg and Non veg food and home stay from groups also available but call and inform first.

About the Trek : It is simple trek of 30/40 minutes suitable for all ages. It starts with small steps. in 20 minutes you reach on the top and vast plateau is seen. The plateau is so so beautiful in september with yellow (Sonaki) flowers, purple (Terda) followers. Here paved route can be seen which takes you to the historic temple of Raireshwar. There is village of Jangam community who are living here since Chhatrpati Shivaji Maharaj period. Keep 7 hours plan from parking to parking.
